John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado that specialized in folk music has inspired millions of people. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, Denver fell in over Colorado before settling in Aspen. There were many who traveled toward Colorado following the Denver's cult anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated the following: John Denver is the only actor to be a symbol of Colorado. Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever to be a member. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people around the world. On my trips I've had the pleasure of meeting people from New Zealand or the other side. If you say you're from Colorado, the first words they'll use are Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short period of performing with small folk music groups is Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver saw an early rendition it was clear that it was an instant hit. In the days following his performance to a packed audience in Washington D.C., the performer recorded his own song.
